BEMERTON Heath Harlequins hit the FA Vase trail on Saturday when they visit Dorset to take on Sherborne Town. Wessex Premier Division leaders Salisbury are also on the road in the Vase - Wincanton Town hosting the Whites.

VENTURA Storm, with Sean Levey in the saddle, won the opening race at this afternoon's meeting at Salisbury Racecourse. The 11/4 shot, trained by Richard Hannon saw off 7/4 favourite Justice Law by more than two lengths. Rod Millman's Bukle (20/1) took the honours in the second, the Irish Yearling Sales Nursery Handicap over seven furlongs, getting the better of 3/1 favourite Carenot by three lengths. Light Music, the 7/2 market leader, then became the third favourite to finish second when beaten by John Gosden's Nathra (6/1).

SALISBURY FC made it four wins on the spin when beating Verwood Town 5-0 this evening to go top of the Wessex League Premier Division table. Ashley Jarvis put the hosts in front on 15 minutes with Sam Wilson doubling their advantage just before the half-hour mark. Tom Whelan then made it 3-0 seven minutes before the break. Salisbury's fourth came courtesy of an own goal six minutes into the second half. Kane O'Keefe then completed the scoring on 72 minutes. A crowd of 682 were at the Raymond McEnhill Stadium. The Whites, who are the division's top scorers, are level on points with Horndean but have a superior goal difference.
