FORMER Salisbury City director Jeremy Harwood, turned his attentions to another sport close to his heart at the weekend when he took part in a Charity Pro-Am tennis tournament.

The Hurlingham Club in central London was the setting for this year’s Enterprise Cup – the competition being held during the Fortis Bank Tennis Classic to raise funds for the National Enterprise Academy, founded by Peter Jones, of Dragons Den fame.

Andover businessman Harwood, whose LEDsynergy company provide the electronic scoreboard at Salisbury’s Raymond McEnhill Stadium, partnered Jones as the only fully amateur team, playing games against tennis legends including Pat Cash, Mats Wilander and Henri Leconte.

The newly-established National Enterprise Academy will deliver the UK's first full-time accredited courses in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship.

These will give students the skills, experience and support to learn how to set up and run successful and innovative business, or to become enterprising employees, helping to grow existing businesses - skills that can be used across any business sector, and skills for life.

Harwood (pictured, far right) said: “It was a fantastic experience, and we had a really enjoyable day.

“The highlight was Mats giving me a signed note confirming that during our match I had aced him!”
