LOUISA Lockwood was in fine form at Larkhill Horse Trials at the weekend.

The Winterbourne Stoke rider and the Michelle Wylde-owned Frodos Star (pictured) were victorious in Section E of the Novices, finishing just half-a-point in front of New Zealand's Tim Price and Wesko.

It was Frodos Star's first ever Novice competition.

Louisa and Castleside Waylon were second in Section M of the BE100 while the Patricia Birts-owned Another Proposition showed great promise for the future by finishing sixth in Section L of the BE100.

It had been a busy week for Louisa, who prior to heading to Larkhill, had competed at Portman on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Another Proposition made her Pre-Novice event debut at Portman where Frodos Star finished second.

Portman also saw a third place finish for Louisa's own horse, The Leopard.

The only disappointment at the event came on the cross country section when Penultimate Vision spooked and ran past a fence before Louisa could turn him.

Both Castleside Waylon and Another Proposition were contesting their first ever Pre-Novice events at Portman, but both finished in the top ten places - closing seventh and tenth, respectively.

Next up for Louisa is the Burnham Market International Horse Trials, which start on Friday (April 15).
