SOUTH Wilts Cricket Club's under nines completed a New Forest Junior Cricket League double at the weekend by adding the League Playoff to the Cup that they had won just two days earlier. The triumph meant the Salisbury club's youngest age group had gone their entire debut league season unbeaten. On Friday evening, the youngsters played out the Cup Final with hosts Redlynch & Hale. After beating Bashley, Pylewell Park and Lymington in the previous rounds, South Wilts emerged as victors in a competitive encounter by 39 runs. Fresh from that success, the boys headed to North Division victors Cranborne Cricket Club for the League Playoff along with South Division winners Michelmersh & Timsbury. In a highly competitive match of high quality, South Wilts won by a narrow 19-run margin. The Redlynch & Hale and South Wilts teams are pictured (above). Photo courtesy of DE Photo.
