LOUISA Lockwood has been forced to withdraw from this weekend's Wilton Horse Trials after suffering a broken wrist in a fall.

The Winterbourne Stoke rider was injured at the Barbury Horse Trials when she fell from The Diva.

Her withdrawal from the Wilton event, which begins on Saturday, means she will be unable to try and increase her lead in this year's Stately Homes Challenge.

Louisa now faces a race against time to be fit to compete aboard Ballyfarris Flight and Acheron at the Intermediate Championships at Gatcombe later this summer.

She has asked local riders to deputise at Wilton - The Leopard will be competed at Novice level by Mark Ford, while Penultimate Vision has been taken out and swapped with Advanced mare The Diva, who is short of a recent run. She will be run hors concours in the Intermediate by Clayton Fredericks.
