SOUTH Wilts Cricket Club’s James Hibberd has been handed the captaincy for Wiltshire’s next Minor Counties Championship match. 

County skipper Michael Coles, along with Joe Breet, is unavailable for the three-day contest against Wales Minor Counties which begins on Sunday (August 1) at Trowbridge. 

Hibberd, who was Wiltshire’s captain last year, and Simon Branston are the only two Salisbury-based players in the team. 

Wes Durston, who signed for Derbyshire earlier in the season, is expected to be available to play his first match for Wiltshire this summer. 

Wiltshire team: James Hibberd (South Wilts), Owen Alsop (Potterne & Hampshire Academy), Tom Bowler (Corsham), Simon Branston (South Wilts), Wes Durston (Corsham), Henry Langford (Brockhampton), Jayden Levitt (Bromsgrove), Adam Miles (Lansdown), Mitchell Stokes (Silverdale), Luke Stoughton (Ealing), Andy Sutton (Barnt Green).
