LEE Mahony won the annual Salisbury Open Mens Singles tournament courtesy of a 6-0, 6-0 final win against Portsmouth's Matt Mai.

Mahony (pictured) had defeated Southampton's Josh Gook 6-4, 6-4 in his semi final, however Mai had taken just over three hours to beat holder Rory Smith 6-7, 7-6, 7-5, which clearly took a lot out of him ahead of the final.

It was Mahony's third title win in eight years

Ben Young (Bournemouth) beat Mark Himmens (Portsmouth) 6-1, 6-3 in the consolation final.

The doubles event saw Krzysztof Koziol (Bournemouth) and Ben Young beat Matt Mai and Mark Himmens 6-2, 4-6, 10-6 on the previous day.

The highlight of the weekend was Casualty star Tristan Gemmill playing singles.
