SALISBURY racer Stuart Waite finished a highly creditable second at Thruxton on Saturday in the Gaz Shocks Production BMW Championship.
Qualifying went well for Waite, who claimed a well earned fifth place on the grid.
With one of the two contests being cancelled due to an earlier accident in the GT race, the Salisbury driver had to work hard to gain as many points as possible from this round, which he did in style.
Mastering the damp track from the start, he managed to work his way up to second by the end of the first lap and then took the lead on lap two.
Waite held on to the lead until lap eight when he was passed by Ben Winrow.
Although Waite fought hard to reclaim the lead, he had to settle for the runners up spot on this occasion.
