Visitors to the Ringwood venue can see her ride on both Tuesday (at 11.16, 12.55 and 14.09 and 14.51) and Wednesday (at 09.46, 10.03, and 10.24 and 10.48). Among a record number of entries for the event, there is an impressive line-up of top British riders. Last year’s Badminton and Burghley winner, Oliver Townend has five horses, while five-time Olympian Mary King is another big draw. William Fox-Pitt, who won a team gold medal in the European Championships last year rides ten. Olympic bronze medallist Kristina Cook rides four with Lucy Wiegersma rides eight. Veteran double Olympic medallist, and last years CIC** winner Mark Todd defends his title. Local riders are also out in force at the event, again sponsored by Savills, including Katie Edwards from Somerley, Albertine Blanchard from Rockwood, and world silver medallist Clayton Fredericks of West Lavington. On Tuesday there are Novice and Intermediate classes, when the event horses of the future will see if they can complete dressage showjumping and the challenge of cross country. The Somerley Park event also hosts the first leg of the Mitsubishi Stately Homes Challenge. Last year’s winner Andrew Nicholson puts down a strong challenge with nine rides. Wednesday sees the finale of the International CIC** with showjumping and the excitement of the cross country. Car access is from the A338 with plenty of space for parking. There are 25 countryside trade stands with a wide variety of products on offer for equine and leisure pursuits and a large public marquee with quality catering. There will also be a specialist marquee with a wide selection of the best of the local Farmer’s Market produce. Admission is £10 per car (to include programme subject to availability) Tickets available on the gate.
