A GLITTERING array of top names will be in action on Tuesday and Wednesday at Somerley Park International one-day event - the first International horse trials in the 2010 UK calendar.

Zara Phillips has already entered three horses, and will bring her potential 2012 Olympic ride Make Mine Music for an early outing in the CIC** International at the picturesque estate, near Ringwood, on March 30-31.

There is a sparkling entry of British and International riders, Pippa Funnell - the Rolex £1m challenge winner - also brings a trio of horses, while Mary King and her daughter Emily have two each. Andrew Nicholson will be very busy, riding nine over the two days!

The event takes place in the grounds of the Somerley Estate, home of the Earl of Normanton, and again boasts Savills as its title sponsor.

Novice and Intermediate classes are to the fore on the Tuesday, when the event horses of the future will see if they can complete dressage showjumping and the challenge of cross country.

The event also sees Somerley Park host the first leg of the Mitsubishi Stately Homes Challenge - other legs are held at Wilton and Highclere.

Wednesday sees the finale of the International  CIC** with showjumping and the excitement of the cross country.

On site will be 25 countryside trade stands with a wide variety of products on offer for equine and leisure pursuits.

There is a large public marquee with quality catering and a specialist marquee with a wide selection of the best of the local farmer’s market produce.

Car access is from the A338 and there is ample space for parking. Admission is £10 per car (to include programme subject to availability).
