![]() LOUISA Lockwood begins her 2010 eventing season today (Thursday) at Tweseldown in Hampshire, where she has six horses competing over the three days. The Winterbourne Stoke star enjoyed a tremendous 2009 campaign and hopes are high that her success will continue this year. The winter months have seen a mixture of work and deserved relaxtion for the popular eventer - although a trip to Africa resulted in a sprained wrist suffered while white-water rafting down the Zambesi. Desert and Island and The Diva start their campaign in the Open Intermediate alongside many of the very top horses. Louisa has indicated that these two mares will be aimed at Badminton at the end of April and Bramham in June respectively. BallyFarris Flight and Acheron will be competing in the Open Novice with Zoopsie and Penultimate Vision taking on the BE100. Louisa currently owns both BallyFarris Flight and Penultimate Vision and is hoping to attract new owners or syndicates for these two exceptional horses.
BallyFarris Flight, a seven-year-old ex-showjumper by High Roller, is already showing enormous potential. "I believe this horse has all the talent, scope and attitude to be a world class and future team horse. "He jumps for fun - regularly out of his field - and has bags of character. I will be aiming him for the seven-year-old World Championships in France in October." Penultimate Vision only arrived at Louisa's yard in August but took three second places in the remaining weeks of the 2009 season and is showing all the ability to be a very serious talent. Both these horses will also be in action at Aldon, near Yeovil (March 19-21) where BallyFarris Flight will step up to Intermediate. Louisa says she is keen to attract a couple of new event rides and would be delighted to hear from anyone who has a horse they would like evented, or who would like her to look for a potential top horse to bring on. She is also available for teaching - either at her yard or locally.
